Rolled oats, dried fried, nuts, chia seeds, maple and brown sugars delivers a crunchy, wholesome breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries or cranberries
  • 1/2 cup roasted and salted sunflower kernels
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 3/4 raw pecans
  • 1/8 cup chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup grapeseed oil or other neutral oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl combine oats, dried cherries, sunflower kernels, raisins, pecans and chia seeds.
  3. In a small bowl, combine maple syrup, brown sugar, oil and salt. Whisk well to combine.
  4. Pour the maple syrup mixture over the oat mixture. Use a silicone spatula to mix well. Pour the mixture over the lined baking sheet and spread it out evenly. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring halfway through the baking process.
  5. After 45 minutes, the oats will look soft but will get crispy as it cools. Give it a stir and let it cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
